Sound on Sound Festival Stage Design

The festival Sound on Sound took the atmosphere of the Austin music scene’s huge variety of genres and fun weirdness and placed it all in the middle of a Renaissance fair ground.

Never wanting to miss a chance to put amazing things in unexpected places, we worked with them to create a one-of-a-kind main stage for the event that encompassed building a castle and a fire-breathing dragon around the stage.

The work began with designers to sketch up designs, build strategies with fabricators, and exploring the castles of Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland. We drafted up several variations, some including large scale projection mapping and a variety of content designs for the wide variety of genres and themes of the festival. Finalizing these things, we quickly went to work to bring this fantasy into reality.

Design and Fabrication in collaboration with Aaron Lubdell(NYC), Jesse Van Mouwerik(Berlin, DE), and Art Seen Alliance.
